Burgundy Information Services, formed in 2007, is the brainchild of Nancy Buckley, former International Sales Director at Blackwell Publishing.

Nancy recognized that no other subscription agency or marketing company was offering truly proactive field sales to small and medium sized publishers in Europe. She is the founder of the United Kingdom Serials Group (UKSG) 'Transfer' project, which aims to develop a code of practice for the transferring of journal titles between publishers and she has also been UKSG Treasurer for a number of years.

Nancy is also a trained librarian.

Paul joined Burgundy Information Services in March 2008. He is responsible for developing sales to academic and commercial libraries, negotiating site licenses for access to online content, and promoting the migration from print to online on behalf of Burgundy's numerous publishing partners.

Paul has worked within the scholarly and electronic publishing environment for more than twelve years, most recently at Wiley-Blackwell where he was the Regional Sales Director responsible for managing the company's relationships with consortia and libraries throughout Northern and Western Europe and Africa.

Paul was a member of the UKSG's Education Sub-Committee for six years.

April 2008 saw Helen join Burgundy Information Services, working with Nancy and Paul on Burgundy's growing list of Publishing partners and Library customers.

Helen's previous roles at Sage Publications and Blackwell Publishing have seen her develop consortia strategies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has been most recently responsible for managing the growth of Sage's library sales team and was actively involved with their negotiation and sales policy setting processes.

Helen has also been an active member of the UKSG 'Transfer' working group and the UKSG's Marketing Sub-Committee. Helen speaks fluent French and Spanish.

Matthew has worked within the publishing and library information industries for over 10 years, including sales roles within IS Oxford, Blackwell Publishing, Wiley-Blackwell and most recently Taylor & Francis where he managed multi-level negotiations with Academic, Corporate, Government and Medical institutions and consortia throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

In 2006 Matthew won the Wiley-Blackwell journal sales team award for best performing Sales Manager.

Elica started her career in Academic Publishing at Taylor & Francis where she worked in the Journal Sales Department promoting and selling e-resources to a broad range of Academic, Government, Research and Corporate institutions and consortia.

Whilst at Taylor & Francis Elica implemented cross-territory sales and marketing strategies, creating in the process a wide reaching network of contacts and knowledge that is being utilised and further developed in her role at Burgundy.

Elica has an MA in Publishing from City University London and speaks fluent English, Serbo-Croat and French as well as her native Macedonian.
