The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. Supported by a worldwide network of members and an international publishing business, their activities span education, conferences, science policy and the promotion of chemistry to the public.
The RSC is a not-for-profit publisher of a wide range of books, journals and databases. They publish a series of high impact journals that are dedicated to the rapid publishing of innovative chemistry and these titles are recognised as the fastest in the field, with many papers being fully peer-reviewed, edited and published within a day of receipt. This is made possible by a dedicated, professional staff, and truly innovative electronic workflow systems.
Since 2006 the RSC have significantly grown their journal content. In 2008 they published 30% more articles than in 2007. And this year, 2009 they are on track to publish 10,000 articles, representing a further 30% increase in published material.
The RSC journal portfolio contains market-leading titles in major area of chemistry such as PCCP (in cooperation with many other European chemical societies), Dalton Transactions, Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, Journal of Materials Chemistry, and Analyst (which has been published continuously since 1876).
The RSC flagship journals, Chemical Science, Chemical Communications and Chemical Society Reviews offer a home to the most innovative research in all areas of the chemical sciences.
New journals at the boundaries with other areas of science serve new and emerging research communities; journal launches in recent years include Soft Matter, Molecular BioSystems, Energy & Environmental Sciences, Integrative Biology, Metallomics, Nanoscale, MedChemComm to name but a few.
